LinkedIn users have been targeted by email scams after hackers leaked more than six million user passwords online.
Emails designed to look like they were sent by the social-network website asked users to "confirm" their email address by clicking a link.
However, the link took unsuspecting recipients to a site selling counterfeit drugs.
I think it's terrible to see that even the biggest website's and all the social media in the world isn't save anymore for all the hackers out there!
and the worst part is that they've put everything online on a Russian website so anybody can see your stuff.
If those were my personal data, I wouldn't be pleased at all!
I've seen this news item on TV and it looks like practically no information on the internet is really safe. The problem with these passwords is that lots of people (I'm one of them) use the same password for several websites including the ones for financial matters.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou always have to be careful who you'll trust. And with social media you feel much more vulnerable, because you often don't recognise it. Maybe a tiny advantage is that the hackers keep the world alert so companies make saver websites. It looks like a sport to the hackers, they even are offered jobs by major companies.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLuckily I was no longer a member of Linkedin, but even if I was, what is anyone going to do with my password? I can't imagine someone looking up my account and trying to use it to hack any of the other websites I use. There is not a hacker in the world with that much time on his hands.
